Hi

I'm a novice, I'm going to attempt replacing the head gasket myself.

When I've read a few posts people mention replacing the "valve stem seals" while you in there.

Are there any other parts I should pre-order on a "just in case" basis that might be sensible preventative maintenance to do while I've got the engine in bits?

Thanks

Check the valves and the valve seats.

Inspect the pre chamber tips or just put in new pre chambers.

Replace the timing chain.

Check the Timing Chain Stretch using the 2mm Method before you remove the Cylinder Head.
Check the Cylinder Head with a percision Straight Edge for warpage and the top of the Block also.
If the Cylinder Head is warped beyond spec and you send it to be re-surfaced; when the Prechambers are re-installed there is a spec as to how much they are allowed to stickout beyond the Cylinder Head and there are Different Sized Seal Rings to adjust that.
You need a special Tool to remove and install th Prechamber Rings.
