My MD specailst had one look at the engine and said the head has gone at the front of the block. He pointed out some oil leaking at the front of the engine. I dont understand this as the car has only covered 77,000miles and has a full merc history with it. The car has not been driven hard as it used to be a car to Chuffer VIP from airports around England. Has anyone had this problem and if so how much did it cost you?The guy wants £500 for the job, I'm kinda happy the car is still under 3months parts and labour warranty from the gargage I bought it from.

Cheers fellas

Yohan
This is a common problem with the 3.2 M104 engine as in your Benz. Its not the head gasket. There is a front engine gasket which is phrone to leaking. Replace it and renew the water pump/ drive belt and tensioner while its being done as this all has to come out for the job. I had this done in West London by a Benz specialist for £200 + parts (£100ish) earlier this year.

let us know how it goes
Gill :)
