I just bit the bullet and picked up an 79 300D with 165,000 on it. I want to get a manual but not sure which one is better. Any help?

Pictures to follow!

I think you mean Chilton's, but go with the Haynes.
If you can, get the FSM from MBUSA.com

Between Haynes and Chilton - I'd definitely go with haynes. The MB service CD's are OK (and free on the internet if you know where to look)

The best manual I have is an actual MB engine manual that I STOLE off of ebay for $16! The seller had a but of misinformation in the title and I caught it. If you are diligent about it, a steal will come up eventually.

Thanks to gsc280 when I purchased a used grill from him for my 83 300D he threw in a Haynes manual for nothing. I guess any resource for maintenance is a good thing. GSC280 now has a w202 and didnt need the manual for the w123 anymore.
