They are called Avon Tech M550 A/S. I was checking out Tire Rack and came across these tires. The ratings seem very good according to the numbers. Just wondering if anyone has tried them yet. Here's a link:

If you try them, then let me know. I am having a very bad experience with Cooper tyres. The tyres are hydroplaning even in a slightly wet weather and if there is sand on the roads. It has also given me a lot of wheel alignment problems. Do not buy Cooper tyres.

The only Avons I used are for motorcycles.

They are good and sticky but didn't last long with hard acceleration and big torque machines. They cost a little more but they could corner really well.

The car compound is probably different if I had a sports car I'd consider them.

On my slow ass sedan I use Sumitomo or Kumho. They wear really well have good grip and have fitments for 18's that won't leave you broke.

i've got Avon ZZ1's on my 740.....one of the better tires in my opinion.

give it a shot.

but the ZZ1's (top pic) are actually afew years old now...the later / current ones are the ZZ3 (middle pic) and ZV3 (bottom pic).

I just mounted my Avons about two weeks ago. I did my research on them a while back and after looking at test results/surveys, and the price.... I had to try em'. I was anxious to see how they'd hold up to the way I drive [:p] and I must say... SOLID!! Luv the control, the grip and handling I get from them. So far I think they're a steal. I just wanna see how long they'll last. I'm sure I'll buy more tho. Check em' out... Luke at tire rack luvs em' too.
