I am having some work done on my tranny and as it happens its vacuum transducer (Part 001403160) needs replacing. My Indy Benz tech says he can’t find one anywhere. I did my own search and had no luck. Anyone have some recommendations? (I am looking for the part in the states—my listing says Spain as I am on vacation)

Thanks in advanced.

Just missing a 0 at front end.
0001403160 is a vacuum valve that seems to mount on firewall.
Used on cars with chassis # from 28300 on.
earlier cars from 21762 used
0001402260

This says discontinued product (Some others too)

I would ask the Classic Center what they suggest.

Thanks—MBGraham—that’s the part.
If I had the problem, I would try Exo Parts in Canada. Never know, MB Canada may have old stock

Exo call that an EGR valve. Others call it an Emission system valve. But you say it is the tranny vacuum transducer. Are you sure you are looking for the right part? Maybe Nobby found the right part? Or perhaps it is the transmission vacuum modulator that your mechanic needs?? (Rowdie's pic - likely different model!)

When I needed a part for my tranny, I was able to buy it from Sun Valley Dismantlers - they are MB tranny experts: Sun Valley Mercedes Transmissions

The egr valve which has the number you are searching for, is item 4 in this diagram:

That's a different part number
Yes..I saw that. Part numbers do change with improvements.

Don't know. Just trying to help...or muddy the waters.

Sebastian's number doesn't seem to have much to do with his transmission. But I know nothing about these later cars with emission do-dads. MB EPC didn't have new numbers to replace Sebastian's number.

Perhaps it is the vacuum modulator that his mechanic needs?
Like this one:

But no way for us to guess any more. Just passing time anyway ;)

Where did you get the part number?

I get PN A123 270 00 79 which is replaced by all the parts in blue.

One confusion could be that some parts have multiple names. The vacuum modulator in the eBay ad that I linked is the same as the diaphragm that Roncollo posted about. I have also seen it called a vacuum cell or a vacuum box on vendor sites!

The vacuum transducer (Part A001403160) that you were looking for seems to be part of the emission system and not the transmission. It is also no longer available.

Maybe ask the mechanic if what he needs is the vacuum modulator in the picture in post #7. That appears to be available and is, it seems, part A0002700179 (now replaced by A000270077902). With your VIN a Mercedes OE parts vendor should be able to confirm that it is the correct part for your 79 107.

Second attempt MB. :)

Ok so I finally am back in town and was able to look at the part.

Apparently, none of what we were looking at are it.

Here are two shots of the part. The first zoomed out to give you a sense of the location and the latter zoomed in.

Anyone have a sense as to what the part number is for this one and better yet have one? Maybe from post number 7‘s schematic could it be the diverter valve?

Thanks in advance wise R107 friends!

Judging by number of vacuum hose, it could be #12. But someone with later Kjet should confirm.

I think you may be right. Anyone know for sure? Also, I did a quick search and not finding the parts. Anyone have any ideas?
Looks like #12. I see a brown, blue and white tube going to it. There should also be an orange tube. Maybe the orange goes in the post that looks empty. You should verify where those tubes are going.
