Hi,

Anyone has experienced this before? Starts on first crank if engine is cold and RPM holds steady at 900 right away.

However, when engine is hot it may take a few cranks if I turn the starter key at once OR If I start and hold the starter key (just for a second), engine starts right away but RPM begins low at 500 then surges to 2000 before steadying at 900.

I'm guessing this is fuel pressure issue, fuel pump check valve, accumulator, pressure regulator. Anyone?

Car is 1994 C36 with 60.000 km.

TIA...

Update:

The cause was engine temperature switch (attached to right top side on engine if you face the engine), broken wire inside, my mechanic fixed it and now hot start is one crank only. This is especially tricky to troubleshoot since first assumption was usually fuel pressure related issues.

Will update with pic when I get a chance for future reference for other members.
