Just had Cup Kit installed yesterday. Found that the H&R logo shows up-site down on the front springs, does the front spring meant to be installed in certain direction ?

After lowering the car. It looks like the back is lower than the front not so sure whether this is due to the incorrect front sprint installation ?

There are markings for the springs...

I'm not sure if it was HU but it should be with the paperwork that comes with the kit indicating where it goes.

Also, you might want to check if the shocks were put in correctly. My shop put mine in reverse (front to back, back to front) and the car was very low in the front and very high in the back. We swapped the shocks and ride height was perfect.

How much difference is the front and back ?

If it's minimal, then just replace the spring pads.

Re: There are markings for the springs...

Frank, I have HR Spring with 19 in. rims and the back of my car is about 1.0-1.5 in. lower than the front.

I heard about replacing the spring pads. I was wondering where can I get these spring pads.

Thanks

Re: There are markings for the springs...

there is no way you can mix up with the shocks(front/rear) due to the front is MacPherson strut and the back is a normal struts. Just got the confirmation from H&R the front springs can be fitted upside down.

The car looks awesome with H&R Cpu Kits. I guess the only drawn back is light from rear when drive at night (quite strong) and more scaring at high speed.

Cornering is much much better than the stock. Ride doesn't gets suffer at all !!!

nice car !

Hi Frank,

What wheel size you have on your CLK ? Very Very nice !

How's the ride with bigger wheel ? My C class(w203) still uses the stock 16'. Thinking of getting a set of 18' but afraid of harsh ride ?

With the cup kit, the ride is amazingly nice....

The wheels are 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear Lorinser LM5s.

I used to have just H&R springs and the ride was quite harsh. Switching to the cup kit was one of the best upgrades I made. It feels like I'm riding on 17s even 16s at times. Really smooth.

Nice car, I was wondering is that a stock front end for your CLK. It looks like to a Lorinser front end.

After seeing your car and hearing your comments regarding the cup kit and spring comparison, how much would the cup kit cost and where did you purchase yours.

Cup Kits has better ride than stock suspension !

So far my C class(w203) has no trouble with the ride high even with dot 1 rubber shim. High/Low speed all very very nice.

I believe the price is also better than Brabus or Carlsson (don't know the price in U.S).

I wish the front could lower by another .5' (3cm gap after lowering)

Re: H&R Cup Kits installation ?

i'm told that the c-class is designed for the front to have a bigger gap than the rear (this way the car is still level).

if you put a cup kit, will it change the level of the car. i don't want my car to point down too much. i have h&r on mine and the gap does bother me a little but the car is level and it looks good especially with the sports package.

Re: H&R Cup Kits installation ?

I have about 2.5->3 cm gap in front(dot 1 rubber shim) after installed the Cup Kit. I am waiting for the Carlsson 1/5 18' to finished the look. The only regret is the back seat ride is too sensitive to road surface.
