Hello Everyone, I just bought a 1982 280 SL 5 speed manual, and am trying to figure out what the small metal tubes coming off each of the exhaust manifolds are. Two of them are loose, it looks like they might have had small gaskets between the bolt and the manifold that blew off, and causes an exhaust leak. There is one tube on top of each exhaust manifold, about 2 inches from the engine block. Can I just get these welded, or does the exhaust manifold have to come off to get to them?
thank you, new member here.

I have an 83 and I have no idea of what you speak.
Forward manifold has an EGR valve..the rear has nothing on top.
How about a picture?
