Could someone give me detailed instructions for installing an Alpine remote antenna for the GPS unit (2001 ML320 MCS unit)? Thank You!

I have tried that page but what I'm asking is how do I get to the connector behind the unit?

You have to get a pair of removal keys to remove the MCS to gain access to the rear of the unit. Do a Search This Forum for 'MCS removal' for more information.

OK, so I got the unit out. When I looked at the antenna wire, it was pinched when installed and eventually rubbed the insulation off in a small spot. Would this be something that could short the GPS unit? Or do you think I should just try the remote antenna? Thanks for your help!

I should add that at my MCS, the antenna jack is pushing 4v acording to the cheapest piece of junk volt meter...which was the same as the roof antenna.
