Im on the market and planning to get one of them. SLK55 or SL500? IMO SL500 looks better but SLK55 handles better and it has less issue then SL, atleast the ABC....

If you're of substantial girth,go for the 500.Has immense room and puts the SLK to shame on longer trips.Short trips;SLK will be a ton more fun.Luck.

feel confined in SLK

I've had both SL and SLK, and am sticking with the R230. To me, the comfort is more important than the acceleration. The urge to punch the small car for the thrill disappears after a while, and I feel confined sideways in the SLK.

ABC is a blessing and a curse, but you can deal with it if you budget for future repairs and find a mechanic who won't rip you off too much...
