Thank you it says left&right front axle half. In my mind it means its awd? Used to own 4x4 trucks so thats where my knowledge comes in.
But its rwd as the back spins when the gas is applied to hard. Also it doesn't say 4matic on the back.

Also it says production date 2006 which makes sense being built in late 2005 but it pulls up and sold as a 07.

W220 production ended in late 2005, replaced by W221. Data card indicates shipment 12/9/2005 & code 806 indicates model year 2006 electronics when 221 was initially introduced in Europe. Definitely 221 furthermore, diagram concludes non-4matic. IMHO you have a very early build 221 possibly a visit/discussion with local MB dealer SA / Service Manager will clarify, doubt MBUSA will shed any light on this other than to refer you to dealer.

Thank you for that information, looking at your pic it does make sense seeing front half axle shafts listed in the data sheet. Still don't understand the meaning behind it as im used to rwd not having anything up front like that ised to seeing wheel hub only. (I still have a lot to learn)

Also going to the dealership Tuesday its first long trip did several short trips in it. For oil change and muti point inspection gonna ask about the transmission and now about what you mentioned to me. About it being an early build, thats kinda cool in my opinion. I think my last one like that was a 2016 Silverado 1500 z71 door card was late 2015.

I did run the vin on mbusa no recalls (doesn't mean it was fixed prior to or they don't exist)

Ok what is a cheaper option and have great sound quality,
Get a usb cd writer Amazon has it for $13
Find a memory card that allows use of sd cards (wanna get the right one i saw one didn't work for s class) from Amazon.
Or get a Bluetooth FM transmitter not the best option or maybe it was because the sound system was junk.

Dying to play my songs

Also might be correct im the only one in my small town with a benz. Have yet to see any.

I agree that transmission probably needs to be serviced however, not knowing the service history of that transmission could be an issue because if it wasn’t serviced at the proper intervals, it’s probably toast inside and new fluid will make it even worse I would take it to a independent Benz repair shop and let them evaluate

Also how does Mercedes do the manufacturer date. It says 10/05 on the door, if i go off my math it makes it an 06 but the vin pulls up an 07 year. Had the insurance company check it when i was talking to them today.
I had this model and year. I ordered it new and it was delivered in early 2006, but was called a 2007 model year. Go figure. It was a great car, however they all had a bad timing gear. Since yours is old at this point in time, I assume it failed and has been fixed Years ago. Also the electronic module in the transmission failed around 60k miles. My previous s class a 1997 had the same failure. You symptoms seem different than mine, but it’s easy for a tech to diagnose. Once you get some of these items sorted out, you will really enjoy this car.

Congrats on the new car! These w221's are engineering marvels. Unfortunately that means you practically need an engineering degree to repair them. Preventative maintenance is the name of the game with these cars. At a minimum, you'll want to change every fluid in the car, as they're all likely way over-due at 15+ years and 120k miles. I believe the transmission fluid and filter are due every 40k miles, so you're now due for this car's 3rd transmission service. Assuming the previous owners actually did the first two services....

Engine oil and filter, engine air filters, I'd do those on day-1. Followed by engine coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid and filter, rear differential fluid, power steering fluid, and the cabin filters. Spark plugs, serpentine belt and idler pulleys too. Most of this is easy DIY, except the transmission fluid which must be filled from below following a very specific procedure, and fluid level set with the engine running, and with the transmission fluid warmed to a specific temperature.

Make sure you use the correct fluids. Bad things will happen if you use incorrect fluids in these cars. Sites like fcpeuro or pelican will have the correct fluids for your car. Do not use generic autozone type stuff, you will regret it. As has been mentioned, you'll want to invest in a diagnostic computer that can talk to all the computers in the car and understand the Mercedes-specific codes. The cheapo $20 ones only talk to the engine and display generic not-too-helpful codes. Given the early production date, many of these service bulletins will likely apply.

Good luck with it, take care of it, and it will take care of you for many luxurious miles to come. I own a 2012 S350 bluetec (that's the diesel v6) and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Thank you its a great car minus fixing some issues. i was looking at a M class i think 07-09 model it had the diesel but i called amd it was pending sale, but definitely gonna have the dealership look everything over and what needs to be fixed my diy skills are decent but lack of decent tools stop me and its above my cut off for diy anyway to much stuff in the way.
i don't use the cheap junk even washer fluid i go rain X wanna stick with castrol edge (i believe its full synthetic) and mobile 1 filter but mobile 1 oil and whatever filter dealership uses is fine im just brand loyal.
unless it has a leak and i buy whatever is cheapest. So far no noticable leaks.

Also do these cars have a serviceable fuel filter? Not that it needs it just wondering. My fuel flow at idle is about.5 gal per hr. Can't remember per min. (Bought the scan tool to turn cel off on gma's cadi as it has a pin hole leak in evap i think to fix that issue would be expensive from what she said. More then a grand to take the whole thing out)
