One,
I know MB recommends 33 psi in back and 32 in fornt for tires. But I think that is too low. I put 35 in back and 33 in front. Seems to ride a bit better. What do you guys keep in it? I'm just running the normal 16 inch rim size. 205 tire size.

Second,
I am notcing a greasy film on the inside of my windshield (windscreen), which i presume to be the heater core leaking anti-freeze into the car. I hope to God not! I have that problem on my OLD Nissan Altima! I didn't want this problem with a Mercedes-Benz. What do you guys think it could be? No anti-freeze on floor. Havent gotten a message on dash yet about low coolant. Also seems that the fluid is staying the same in the holding tank as well. Any ideas?

Third,
My car has apprx. 97,000 miles on it. Never a tranny fluid change flush/filter change that I am aware of. I heard if you change the fluid now since (I presume it has never been done) it will start to slip gears and really f**k up the trans. What are your guys's thoughts on this. I know all about "lifetime fluid" (Don't believe in it). But since it's been so long? My trans now does the following things. Maybe you guys can give me a clue to what thre hell is going wrong with my car.

1. Start engine, shifts into 2nd "o.k." not the best, but hesitates to shift out of 2nd into 3rd. Rpm's will rise close to 4 before shifting. Then once it shifts i can really feel it in the car. (all weather conditions)
2. Sometimes harsh downshift from 2nd to 1st gear. When i mean harsh, i mean it feels like the tranny fell out of car. But most of the time you can just feel it. It's hard to explain. (all weather conditions) ( seems worse in winter though).

Any ideas or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys. Also let's add to my PDF's thread i started about a week ago.

I follow the PSI label on the gas filler.

No idea but sounds like a heater core/AC issue

There is also some kind of 10 dollar part that goes bad on these. I have a new one but don't even know what it is. Your tranny issue could be small or large.

$10 Part? Can you please explain a little further. Is this something I can do, or at the "s"tealership. Any thread posted on this. I search "heater core", but that did not turn up any useful inquiries! Thanks again. And the Transmission, when i went to MB a while ago they said somethign along the lines that my conductor plate OR something about a magnet is bad, either or.

That's OK.

We all get a bit of that from diesel exhausts. You need to quantify the problem. Do you have to clean the inside screen weekly? Monthly? Does your a/c have a pollen filter?

My car has apprx. 97,000 miles on it. Never a tranny fluid change flush/filter change that I am aware of.
It's time you had an ATF 'service'. Your other transmission symptoms may well disappear then. There is a magnet in the pan on later models to collect ferric debris, and (if absent) one can be added when the pan is removed for filter changing. It does not 'cause' problems.

I'll look at it when I return to my palatial estate. I can't remember what it is off hand.

I changed the cabin air filter to charcol in the spring. I just had my a/c reciver/drier replaced. I notice it about once every two weeks or so. I don't believe it can be from diesel exhausts because this has never happened before. I just hope to God this isnt a major issue. I'm so tired of dealing with heater cores. On all cars, I thought the MB would never have this problem. If i take it to my Indy, it will be like $1,200 to fix and replace. So many hours in labor!

I'm nervous if i change the trans fluid it will mess up the trans because it has never had a flush/replace before.

Yes, the 35 in the back helps out a lot I think. Makes the car more jumpy!

The oil is changed every 7,000 miles. Mobil 1 0w-40 fully sythentic. The trans is a different type of component. With the engine, you dont get all that metal shavings and what not. When you drain the trans fluid after so long without doing it, the metal shavings are going to hopefully all drain out, but if they get stuck somewhere while you are trying to drain it, and then you start the engine thinking you are all done. then your trans goes into limp mode because all the crap that was situated nice and calmy in the trans is now everywhere in their and could potentially mess something up.
