Here they are carving out the final shape of the coupe.
(Notice the artist's pictures on the wall.)
I think they did an excellent job.

I agree. I am glad that they decided not to use the window gills of the SLC. The side window outline is clean, dignified and upscale. Unlike the 250C is lost the static, thick C pillar in favor of a more fluid arc. One can see a little of the 220SE/250SE//280SE of the sixties and early seventies in the W123 coupe.

Funny you mention the SLC gills. The W126 SEC was almost not as lucky, as seen in this February 1977 photo.

Ugh! It's interesting how the Mustangs of the seventies and eighties adopted the gills. They work on the SLC.

I've always been a fan of the W123 design and yes I agree, they did a hell of a fine job with it.

Bro, reality check.... you got a W123 4-door sedan, a W123 5-door estate..... GET A W123 2-dr coupe!!!!!!!
