I replaced glow plugs on my 300d sedan.
I started the first one , the easiest one , using regular open/box wrench 8mm and 12 mm, it took me about 30 minutes, it is not much room to move the wrench.
After lunch, I went to the store and bought a set of Flexible Ratcheting Double Box End Wrench Set. It is a litle bit pricy but it is so easy, I spent another one hr, replaced all 4 plugs with my fat fingers. Except the last one close to the oil filter, I took off the two clips and removed the horizontal bar.

The Factory Service Manual and many Forum Members recommend Reaming or otherwise cleaning the Carbon out of the Glow Plug holes. There is a Glow Plug Reamer (tool) made for that purpose or you can search the forums for an alternate method.

Since I Like a lot of room to work in I remove all of the Fuel Injection Lines; others do not.

In the attached pic on the left if my homemade Glow Plug Reamer with a 6 Flute (groove) spiral Reamer bit. On the far right is a Factory Made Glow Plug Reamer.
