I bought an '03 plate C220 CDI last September from one of the official Used MB outlets. It was sold with 12 months "full MB" warranty, although I haven't seen any official documentation yet despite regular promises that it will be addressed.

I called in today to report that the glowplug light now remains on for 30 seconds when the engine is cold, only to be told that glowplugs are not covered under the warranty, they are considered to be "wear and tear" items.

Can this really be true? Or is the used car full warranty somewhat different from the new car warranty?

Anyone else had a similar experience to this?

If they are wear and tear, does that mean they get replaced during a service?

Wear and tear item meaning they normally go bad over time just as a spark plug does. Manufacturer warranty normally doesn't cover these parts.
