My 111cdi traveliner glow plug lights come back on after start up and stay on for about 15-20 seconds. Is this normal?

Had the same thing with my Vito. It is something to do with the immobiliser been activated. There are a couple of threads on here that give more specific details. I'm using the forum app so can't see how I can paste a link to another thread, but I'm sure if you search for "immobiliser" and "light" it'll find the relevant thread.

on starting.....

glow plug light on.... 20sec... off = glowplugs ok (at least 3 glowplugs, ONE faulty doesn't show a fault)

glow plug light on... 20sec.... stays on (or goes out briefly then stays ON) the immobiliser has been activated (wrong key, door tried, or just a glitch)

what you describe is most probably a minor fault retriggering the glow plug relay.

check the relay connections... especially the thick red feed wire (it cracks at the relay)... stand in front of engine, looking at windscreen, the relay is down the right hand side of the radiator... the wires break and the fixing studs snap

it shouldn't be a problem

ok sorted the search. it wont work on iphone or android tablet! can anyone give me a link to the threads relating to this glow plug issue? I've searched for an hour and cant find relative info
