I have that screened MB unit, but wonder if the seat backs might block some of the turbulence anyway...[:0]malibuite - 3/22/2005 1:22 PM
I like the fact that the MB plexi windscreen has little mesh inserts that fit inside the roll bars to help prevent the air from coming through them. What good is the Airscarf and glass windscreen if the air is still coming though the holes in the roll bars?

Interesting. It's still shown on the official M/B web site at $449. I'll have to see what my dealer has to say about this.
maybe also effected by our slumping dollar...[!]masmole - 3/22/2005 8:07 PM
... more like MB capitalizing in the fact that winter is over, more people will be buying SLK's, and more people will have the top down and want one.
MB still list the MSRP as $449 so it appears this is individual dealer gouging and not "...MB capitalizing...". I doubt that there would need to be a price increase because of the Dollar to Euro ratio because the Windscreen is a high profit item that contains little in parts costs.
You really think the people that buy an SLK would steal a windscreen? [xx(] Doesn't seem like it would fit any other car...[:0]malibuite - 3/23/2005 12:58 PM
Another thought about the glass windscreen. It is so easy to remove that it may become a hot item to steal. If you park your car for any length of time with the top down, you may return to find it gone (the windscreen not the car).
