Hello. My wife's 2012 GL450's airmatic is stuck on the up position. When you press down to lower the light just flashes but the car doesn't lower back to normal height. I've check the 2 orange 20A fuses and also the green relay and all 3 looks fine. I also had our mechanic check all the wiring on the air compressor to see if any were loose or broken but he didn't find any wires that were broken. I forgot to ask him to check the valve to see if it's stuck or clog while he had the wheel off. Do you know where the valve is on the compressor? Attached is a pic that I circle in red in which I think that is the valve. Can anyone confirm if that is the valve I need to check to see if it's stuck or clogged?

Also is there anything else I can check besides the valve? Thanks!

I decided to borrow my friend's scanner ad the codes I recieved are:

  • 5506: Recovery timesduring bleeding of air suspension strut is too long.
  • 5400: Check component F58KG (Air suspension compressor)
  • 5350: Check component a9/1y1 (AIRmatic pressure relese valve)
  • 5171: Check component Y36b1 (AIR matic pressure release sensor)

Data Stream:

  • B22/8 (Left front level sensor) 2.31V
  • Left front level sensor: -7mm
  • B22/9 (Right front level sensor): 2.69V
  • Right front level sensor: -4mm
  • B22/7 (Left rear level sensor) 3.02V
  • Vehicle level at rear left: 28mm
  • B22/10 (Right rear level sensor): 2.14V
  • Vehicle level at rear right: 20mm
*Status Lock position: OFF

From the codes above, does anyone know if its the air compressor or one of the leveling sensor that is the problem? If it's the levelig sensor, can you tell which one of the four is the issue from the data above?

Thanks in advance!
