I have what seems to be a slightly different twist on the usual monovalve issues regarding heat. When driving, my '87 SEC will sometimes go to full heat. At that time, the dash control is completely inoperative. The recirc switch wont engage either. I know that when theres an electrical fault or overload, the ACC is designed to default to the full heat setting. So heres the twist: if i turn the car off and immediately restart, the ACC works normally and can stay that way for a while. I believe this is electrical in nature vs. vacuum. I read that the auxiliary electric water pump is sometimes to blame? Anyone with a similar problem that was resolved?

Many thanks!
