Wonder about a gearbox I have to my old 300GD 460 witch I want to sell. Its a Mercedes gearbox 711.110 328 442 G1/18 5/6,15 I need little more information about this one. Im sure its not original GD-part beacuse its have a place for speed-cable in back of the box. I have the short axle and linkage from a Getrag gearbox I would sell together. Is this the choice to get a 5-speed with a very low 1 gear?/Göran

Göran,

its an original G box. Military 290GD version. Coolest transmission for off-road. And yes, this is the way to get the lowest crawl ratio in combination with the 6.17:1 axle gears.
So, you are selling the parts? How much?

The gearbox, short axle(complete between gearbox and transfer-box)and linkage. The axle and linkage come from a Getrag gearbox but the gearbox have also a own linkage witch could be included./Göran

Please correct me if I am wrong but I think the 711.110 is a gearbox out of a van, while mine is and has that number and the aforemetioned speedodrive.
I believe the original G militarybox is 711.116.
I had to modify mine a bit to get it too fit.

Regards

Took it to a guy who knew what he was doing as my mechanical knowledge is purely 'theoretical'[:D]
