Hello to all out there,

The alternative had failed on my G Wagen.
It was reconditioned and returned to service (works fine) but from that point on the abs warning light stays on, and the rev counter no longer works...

The fuses seem to be fine.

Can anyone point me in the right direction is recifying thiese problems pls?
I am confident that the ABS actually still works and that the warning is bogus.

thanks in advance :)

regards & best wishes

Check the electrical system voltage at the battery and nearer to the ABS module if you can. I'm guessing that you have a low voltage condition throughout. Does the truck have an airbag? If so, it's controller should be complaining about voltage too.

This sounds like it could be the overvoltage suppressor. That is the name of the device which supplies the power to the ABS and I think the rev counter. It also supplies the idle speed device. Has your idle become rough too when cold?
The module is located above the passenger footwell in the electric area. It will be to the left of the fuses on it's own. It looks similar to a relay and has it's own fuse mounted on the body. You could check it's output with a multimeter.
