I have a 82-300SD I believe the tank is 20 Gallons. I am pretty sure I'd have to double check the manual.

OK, I'm not sure this is 'kosher' but if any of you know of anyone who's sick and tired of paying for diesel fuel for their well cared for/loved MB and have decided to sell, I would like to know. I'm interested in a 126S ('81-'85 300SD Turbo) or possibly an '87 300D Turbo.

Thanks!

2.53 for premium at chevron by my house. 2.49 for premium at shell by my house. 2004 c230 kompressor. 13000 miles.
Yo, Coax, I'm gonna be in O.C in a couple weeks and I'll bring you some cheap (cough cough) East Coast 93 octane. In November in Arizona (south of the Grand Canyon) I saw high test for $2.55...lordy, what must it be now there!!

This week the gas price went up here in Sweden. Now a litre of 98 octane is 11 SEK. That's 5.98$ per gallon. Soon the gas is up to its real value. I agree with the person who think that if the gas prices was doubled or threbled, there will be less drivers on the road. Full tank of 98 octane in my SLK200K is about 650 SEK, about 93 dollars. I have so much fun driving the car so it's OK.

Think a gallon of gas is expensive? This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ...... $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ......$9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 .... $10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ......... $10.00 per gallon
Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ........... $33.60 per gallon
Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .. $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .... $123.20 per gallon
Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ....... . $25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 $84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...
Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon?!
$21.19 for WATER - and the buyers don't even know the source. (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

So,
Cheers, MBL
Interesting been-around-awhile chart but last time I checked I don't use 20-30 gallons of Gatorade, Vick's, Whiteout, etc. etc a week [8D].

Believe it or not (I can hardly believe it myself), but a pretty wild Torana I built managed 30-35mpg highway driving (tested better than 35mpg over 300km but was near broke so was deliberately "feathering" it just above the cam's power band and using next to no juice to hold 130km/h).
Then would manage 100mph ET's at Calder Park, where you could virtually watch the fuel guage go down.
Not bad for 3.3 litres and a 1200kg car, but you certainly didn't want to go flooring it around when your wallet started getting empty.

That was when you could pay 80-90 cents/litre for leaded 100 octane.

My most recent car, a turbo Saab was good on the juice similarly. Once the huffer kicked in you could back right off the accelerator, being a manual it wasn't hard to keep it on the boost and the damn thing's pretty gutless without it anyway.
Last check I was paying just over a dollar a litre for premium 96-98 octane unleaded. That was around a year ago.

I noticed recently pump prices are approaching $1.10/litre for standard 92 octane unleaded. That's about AU$4.10/gallon, whatever that exchanges to...US$3/gallon?
