Matt, where do you get tyres for those?

Amazing work! Love to see the gallery of work-in-progress one day. And read the story. Did you shoot any video?
Thanks DrX
I get them from a place down here that imports them from our good friends in the US. It鈥檚 called antiquetyres. The wheels and tyres were the single most expensive part of both cars.
I made the spokes myself for both cars. That saved a little.
This is a machine everyone needs in there garage.

Matt what is it a duplicator for wooden parts?
Yes it鈥檚 a copy lathe I made for doing the wooden spoke wheels. I make quite a few for people. I鈥檓 doing a set for a 28 chev truck at the moment.
It does 4 spokes at a time.
Doesn鈥檛 everyone have one of them in their garage Hahaha.

Very...very impressive that you built your own lathe to turn your spokes.. What are you using for stock.. Oak?

PS.. You had me going.. I was all over your picture looking for a manufacturer's name.. All awhile, thinking "He must have gotten from some closed down staircase blaster manufacturer"

I鈥檓 using hickory and spotted gum. Hickory is becoming hard to get.
