My brother is just starting to look for a new vehicle. He really likes the MB G wagens a lot. I told him I'd research for him.

Could you good peoples give your opinions, please?
Thank you in advance.[:D]

THAI 1,

I myself like the pre-MBUSA Gwagens.

I like the G320 4 door and have owned it since May 2005.

I also own a 1986 280GE, 300GE and a G320-Cabrio.

My recommendation is to buy a pre-MBUSA Gwagen.

Good Luck in your brother's search !

Chao,

Van

Really? I am doing the same with my brother in his search for H3. G-wagens are expensive, but worth it. I would also look at a Hummer H3. H2, on the other hand, is just filled with cheap plastic and a Tahoe frame.

Good luck.

Well.....seeing a how you are asking on a G-Class forum, we like them[;)] It is the collective opinion of the forum members that the G-wagen is the coolest most capable truck around.

Not sure what you want to know. Simply reading through some posts should give you a good idea. the search function is also quite handy. If that doesn't work how about some more specific questions?

I'm most curious about the interiors and drivability. Is there a substantial difference in the engines(smoothness & power) and how much different are the interiors(Leather quality, buttons & knobs and touchable surfaces)?

Depends on the year - the 2003 G55 was very stiff. They made changes in 2004 and more in 2005. The 2005 G500 and G55 ride very close - other than the huge power difference.

All superior to Hummer H2. You should testdrive one. It's hard to convey this through the internet or in words.

Last I check the literature, the G55 gets BETTER mileage than the G500 (by 1 to 2 mpg).

In my '04 G55, I get about 16.5 mpg in mixed driving.

On paper, the G55 gets better gas mileage. My '02 G500 averaged around 13mpg. My '05 G55 averages around 11.5. That doesn't sound like a huge difference, but it adds up real fa$t. There's one thing to remember, we don't own a G55 (or even a G500) because it's economical. It's not. We own them because they are the bad-est things on the road... correction... planet.
