Has anyone painted all the chrome pieces on the G55 black? I really don't like the look of the rear lamp guards in chrome, esp that bulky. I have the old europa type black lamp guards on our 2000 G and prefer that look. Someone here posted the pics of the brabus GV12 which is all blacked out...looks ok to me. Anyone have any pics or experience with doing this?

Getting paint or powdercoat to stick to chrome is extremely difficult to impossible. That being said, I'm pretty sure that the "chrome" on the G55 is more than likely polished stainless steel. It is still tough to get paint to stick, but not as bad as chrome. It's all in the preparation.
