Howdy All,
Looking at a '11 G55 to replace my wife's ML. The ML is awesome on snow and ice, great traction control system. How might the G's traction control compare?
Thanks,
Chas

It should be as good or better.
Pros:
Transfer Case with High/Low (if needed)
Differential Lockers - Center / Rear - (in both High or Low). If you use Front Lockers, you will actually lose the ability to turn and it will want to track straight.
Higher Clearance with real skid plate protection.
The ability to use larger tires with more aggressive tread.

Cons:
G-Wagon is much heavier and will feel more top-heavy (until you get used to it).

Thanks Chuck, I've wheeled with G-wagons before and they are impressive! My concerns/thoughts are say on....icy roads in town just driving around. We've had a couple of MLs and there are seamless. Just curious of the G's traction control system and how neutral it is comparably on ice. I know the G would run away and hide from the ML off=road. On icy roads the ML would run away and hide from my Mog.
Thanks,
Chas

I have a 2007 ML320 CDI and the older G320 before traction control was used. I don't have any experience with the newer 2011 G-Wagons. I would imagine that it would be as good or better.
