I'm considering getting the optional AMG Style I 18' rims which, according to the MBUSA web site are 18/8.5 and run for about $750 as an upgrade at purchase time. The stock rims are 18/7.5 and come with 265/60 R18 tires, but so do the AMG wheels which are wider. Should I get wider tires as well, and if so, what size?
I've never replaced brand new tires (the car will probably have less than 20 miles on it) before, but I assume that I could trade them in when I buy a new set...right?
That reminds me...it would be really nice if the TireRack.com site got updated with info on the G-class. It's not listed as a 2002 MB model.

I would recommend that you keep the original tire size and if you get the wider wheel it will improve the handling of your G-Wagon. We will have the G-Wagon AMG wheels in early Feb. at $419.00 each.
