question:
is the 2002 G nav system D or C?

Harald
What kinda code are you speaking[?] I assume you mean DVD or CD based correct? It is CD based for 2002, I might even have the CD collection from my 2002. If you are interested I can look around for them.

Or do you mean Daimler vs. Chrysler? It's a Daimler, of Becker design. CDRom based. Same system in the 02 through 05 except for the Sirius option.

NavTech (a Chicago company - recent IPO) supplies the data. If you need a CDRom any recent NavTech CD should work.

The ML disks are NOT compatible.

Brent,

apparently there were two different CD nav systems offered. D-NAV and C-NAV.
Looks like C-NAV was a very early system in the S-Class. D is what is offered in the G.

And yes, I am looking for used CDs for my 2002 G500. Part of the many mysteries of my G500 is that it came without the CDs (any CD for that matter). I am bidding for a California CD right now to get the monitor going. MBUSA did not answer my request for getting me what I need. So, I have to help myself.
I'll be happy to take some off your hands, Brent, if you don't need them anymore.

Harald
