Ok every time I wash my engine bay then try to start the ml it always blows the gauge and heater fuse.Does this happen to anyone else?I even washed it carefully making sure I didn't spray the fuse box area.

No it is not normal. I even carefully pressure wash my ML exterior and engine.

There must be some wire that may have been pinched or exposed and is making ground, or maybe a loose connector that is letting water in..?

With the advent of the sophisticated electronics within our vehicles, I would strongly advise against "washing" the engine compartment of any modern day vehicle.
