I was dawdling around the back og the car, and the ignition was on II. Every 30 seconds or so I heard a noise coming from behind the car. It sounded like the rear suspension compressor switching on and off again for a few seconds. Since I don't have SLS I'm assuming it's the fuel pumps. Is it normal they run this regularly or is it indicative of a fuel leak or a bad accumulator ?

Thanks,

Peter

There are people on here who can answer your question with more direct knowledge, but I would say it IS the fuel pumps and that there is a small leak someplace, perhaps in the accumulator, and that is telling the pump to kick in.
Makes sense to me. Or could it be a weak back flow valve. I believe there is such a unit in one of the fuel lines TO the pump.
