trying to start my 250c, but she wouldnt start, turned over nicely but no start. so i put some fuel in the carbs and she started but only momenterily; could it be the fuel pump. where is the pump located, is it electric or mechanical. am i supposed to hear the pump before starting the car? one more thing, the fuel filter is clear and i see that fuel is only about half way up. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Mechanical pump attaches to the side of the engine. It's dirt cheap, if it needs replacing.

Even back in the day, we sold 20 electric pumps for every mechanical one. That should tell you something.
