I've got a 1997 108D, although it appears to be more likely that it's had a 113 fitted at some point.

Anyway I've had it only a month. About a week after getting it I started to introduce biodiesel. I've previously run a few vehicles on it without problems and spoke to another Vito owner who said his was fine on it.

The day after I noticed a few oily patches on the drive, I assumed it was oil and did post a message here intending to get the engine bay cleaned out once I had monitored it a bit. It has worsened if anything, sometimes leaving fairly large patches. However, the dipstick says the oil is fine, doesn't appear to be losing anything.

I stuck my fingers in the oily patch which have got clearer in colour and they smell more like fuel. Looking in the engine the highest oily point is around two of the injectors, those at either end of the block.

Anyone got any ideas?

I can't monitor the fuel properly as my clocks are broken but I got about 300 miles out of the last 50 litres. The drips only seem to happen when the engine is running.

It could be injector washers, these would only leak when the engine is running and the goo that they pass is very oily. I hope this helps

Hi mate and thanks,

A run to Brighton and back has made the problem quite clear.

One of the injectors is squirting fuel out of the top, could be just the washer as you say. I was going to have a go at tightening it up but my tools have a habit of disappearing (bloddy kids) so it's a non starter.

Will get it to a garage, once I can find a local who'll look at it.

If it is right at the top of the injector it could be the fuel return pipe, I broken one and also had a pipe jump off and had to zip tie the pipe back on. The whole pipe train isn't that expensive for a new one but be careful and very gentle when putting back the cover over the injectors as that is how I broke mine pushing a little too hard to seat it.

Alternatively if it is where the injector goes in the head then it is likely to be the injector washer as mentioned ...
