I had the two hoses replaced on my 300sd today and I was wondering what the extra hose is. The one with the pressed on fitting is the supply but the 5/16 next to it is what??? Would that be the return or is there a seperate return up above? Thank you. 1982 300sd

There's a line from the tank to pump #1 (on a 2 pump system). Then from pump #`to pump #2, then from pump #2 to the filter, then from the filter to the front of the car, with the accumulator sitting up there with the thin line that tees off it. In a one pump system, take out the second pump and the first pump connects to the filter.

I'm pretty sure there's only the one IP on a 617. Again, I'm new with this stuff and could easily be wrong, but the fuel system is one thing I'm fairly well versed with. The WVO mods have necessitated re-routing fuel lines on a few occasions, (and changing out the IP once... whoops).
