I have a 99 sl500. All instrument panel lights are very good except the fuel gauge light which is very dim. Does the fuel gauge have a separate bulb?

There are a few bulbs located behind the instrument cluster. That buld probably went bad. They are not hard to change, just need a set of dash hooks to pull the cluster out with. You can usually change that bulb without having to remove the stearing wheel (you don't have to take the cluster completely out).
