I changed it when i bought the car 7 years ago at 89,000 miles. Now has 147,000 miles. When should i change it again? Car runs great except for a dieing in gear issue in the winter at first start up.

Replace with Bosch or Mann fuel filter only - non-brand or store brand ffuel filters are junk. Bosch/Mann like $35 internet aftermarket like oft mentioned autohausaz.com

You will need replacement standard hose clpamps to replace the MB trickster hose clamps. DIY is in the sitckied.

Do a search for "purge valve" and clean that valve with MAF cleaner before cold weather sets in and see if that helps.

Keep the beat !

We had only 1 car that we bought new and gave it to our son after few years.
Per his word, he sold the 12 years old car with 140,000 on odometer and factory fuel filter still in it.

I use Mann for all my MB filters. I will clean the purge valve as per the sticky.

I hope it was a gas car and not diesel!

Just in case you don't order your filter online - the MB delaership was $66;Napa was $82 for a Mann, and a Mann at Advance Autoparts was $52 - At Advance the filter is listed under Purolator - but when they brought it out to me it was a Mann.

Changed mine Yesterday.
