I've driven my 1984 380SL since new and have never experienced this before: when the fuel gets past 1/4 tank the engine hesitates soon after I initiate a sustained turn. Coming out of a turn and it runs fine again.
Is there something inside the tank? Like a fuel pick up contraption that has fallen? The car did sit for a few years in Florida by the beach after which the fuel looked like this.
And, no, I don't want to even THINK that this is what I have to deal with http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c107-sl-slc-class/1551726-just-bought-my-first-sl-wish-9.html
Scroll to the bottom of the page.
So, now, I assume my fuel feed line to the strainer cup is blocked, which explains the hesitation during turns.
