I have a factory tow ball/trailer hitch setup on a European import 1986 Mercedes Benz 250D wagon. The ball is integral to the unit, and doesn't fit my 1 7/8" trailer hitch (my machinist says this ball is about 75 thousandths of an inch larger). So I guess it is not 2" either. Point is, it's nice but I'm not sure how I can use it, even if I change my trailer hitch.

So if someone would like to buy it, I will probably sell it.

My setup is like in pictures 3, 4, 5, 6 of this post:

I'm trying to reach that poster also.

Thank you.

FYI

Trailer balls in the United States are typically 1 7/8" (47.6 mm) or 2" (50.8 mm). Almost everywhere else in the world trailer balls are 50 mm (1.97") (ISO Standard). At U-Haul I see trailers with couplings that accomodate both 1 7/8" and 2", so I'm surprised that you have a coupling that REALLY wants 1 7/8".

If you have the option of changing the trailer tongue / coupling on your trailer from 1 7/8" to 2", I would think that would work well.
