This is my sweet imperial red 1995 E320 Convertible. The car is 17 years old and with only 93,200 miles. Very good-looking tan interior (front and back), the cowl without cracks, it is 17 years old. No dents or bangs or accicdents. Mechanically is absolutely perfect with a whisper-quiet 600 RPM idle and very strong acceleration and downshifting at any speed. Convertible cylinders have been re-done so no leaks and the top works perfectly. Has had 90K mile service and numerous doo-dads that a car like this needs and deserves. AC is cold and tires are fine. The 93,200 miles are accurate and very low for a 1995 car. Only 6400 of these cars were made by Mercedes. I've owned it about 1.5 years and have had it maintained by the best independent service shops in San Diego and Portland. Asking $9,500. Feel free to make an offer -- but make it befitting this royal chariot! (I will have the car professionally detailed before the new owner gets it -- incl the wheels.)

OOPS -- at a 6000RPM idle this car would be hovering two inches off the ground! The car incl the wheels and int/ext will be professionally detailed before delivery. Thx, Rbt.

Has the wiring harness been changed? What about the head gasket?

I have owned the car about 1.5 years. In that time I've experienced no problems, incl those associated with either the head gasket or wiring harness. It runs beautifully, never misses a beat, has no electrical problems, and is a sweetheart. Had I had problems of any kind they would have been addressed immediately. You are welcome to have the car inspected by an independent mechanic or I can have it inspected by MBI Motors in Portland and you can speak directly to them re the car's condition.

Alex -- One other point: When the car received its 90K service last year there were absolutely no problems. Further, before I moved to Portland this past May I had the car completely checked to be sure there were no bad things lurking around anywhere on the car. It again received a clean bill of health. I arrived in Portland 1200 miles later without incident, without any oil having been burned, and have been enjoying it ever since. As well, had there been any problems wih the harness am I wrong to assume they would have already surfaced and been addressed in the car's 17 years? That was my reasoning when I bought the car, and in the time I've owned it my reasoning is spot on. Rbt.

Harness issues just surfaced in my 1994 e420 last summer so your assumption may not be correct. The harness has a part number and you could tell if it's been replaced by inspecting it.

Alex, Sounds like you got about 18 years out of the harness. That's a good run. No part on any car lasts indefinitely. Again, I dont know about the harness in my car. If you want it inspected to meet your specs I will comply. I dont want to have an ongoing discussion about harnesses and anecdotal experiences with your car. Every car is differerent. My $9500 OBO asking price is very fair for the wonderful condition the car is in. Let me know if you are interested in buying it and what your next step is. Thanks, Robert
