Good morning
I know 19” wheels are frowned upon for the 560sec but I had a set I thought I’d give a shot. High offset 35 but I have a 25mm spacer upfront already so that works out. I’m wondering what tire size I should shoot for. Think I can run a 245/40/19 up front? Car is also lowered a decent amount. I attached a picture with 17s and 225 upfront. Let me know your thoughts

I like it too but I have an extra set of wheels I thought I’d give it a shot just to see if I can do it and push limits

Who knows, it may be worth it. It may look great but the ride may be a trade off.

This will require trial and error , best bet is to go to a local custom wheel shop .one that will try does different sizes and change them at no charge if they rub. There’s no telling what will work without rubbing , your car is lowered an unknown amount and the offsets are way off oem. Buying tires online is guaranteed to result in disappointment if they rub

Just found a slick deal on 245/40/19 set of four pirellis. Picked them up I’ll update in a few days. Otherwise I’ll keep an eye out if anyone posts a better fitment for tires. Like I said I had a set of 19s laying around and thought I’d give it a shot

I've driven SEC's with rims from 14" to 19". 19's ride terrible.

Extremely rough ride, feel EVERY ripple and pothole in the road, and if you run over anything, the rim is bent.

Sold the 18" rims on my SEC and put on a set of 17's, with Nitto tires. Rides smooth and significantly improved cornering capabilities. To each their own, but unless you live somewhere with very very smooth roads, 19s will introduce noise and vibration into what is a World Class GT car.

Never put the 19's on. I have the tire and wheel setup just haven't even attempted it since my current 17 inch setup is a tight squeeze with the car being lowered. Long story short wasted a bunch of money on tires + rims. Oh well. Sorry I can't be of much help

I might try 18 with the same rim style but that will be much later in the cars life, its currently completely disassembled and going to paint shop for a full repaint so she won't be on the road for a while.

I always thought that lower sidewalls were better for ride and handling. Guess I have always been wrong? Guess rim size is a function of personal preference. Am liking all the 16" we have seen in that other thread (Show me...). Lots to think about.

Handling is improved but ride quality differs due to the stiffer lower profile sidewall.

these days the availability of cheap tires is a concern if you drive your w126 enough to wear out tires every 2-3 years as 16 inch tires are getting harder to find , 17 and 18 much easier at reasonable price . If you only put in 3000 miles a year its not as big of a concern

got it. thank you. one of the reasons I exchanged my 14" bundts for 15" new looks was lack of tires. Looks like I am ok for 15" for one more round, then I will look for newer rims. If I get over my penchant/perversion for whitewalls when I grow up, I will want to look like Ian and too many others to list.
