I am replacing the control arms , idler arm bushing & shocks on my 2002 SL-- and can't seem to find the torque specs for all the front end bolts.
went as far as buying access to Alldate-- that was a waste of money- nearly nothing of use there.
Once I finish the front , I will start the rear and will need those specs as well , but that will be a month away.
Front struts… 80 Nm top nut and 110 Nm bottom.
Strut mounts to frame... 20Nm.
Control arm bushings are...120 Nm.
Idler arm bushing is...180 Nm.
I would hope you plan to do wheel alignment after this job… probably good idea to double check control arm bushings torque after alignment. Too many technicians don't use torque wrench.

thank you very much - I have been working on BMW's for year where info is readily available - but not so with these cars. I will align the car & torque the control arm bolts under load.
Might there be a place to find these types of spec?
appreciate the help
I'm using benz WIS (Workshop Information System) as a part of Star Diagnostic System. This is very comprehensive set of diagnostic software/hardware, workshop info, parts catalog and more. But you can also get WIS / EPC on DVD.
