I have an 84 300SD and have noticed a pronounced clunk on the right front when at low speeds I enter the street from my alley. After looking over the rear guide mount I noticed that the large washers on each of the rubber isolaters? could spin on their bolts when I had that side of the car elevated. I'm not sure of the name of the support. Is there a thread that addresses on how to replace these isolaters?

those are the guide rod bushings and probably shot. Search for Guide Rod Bushing replacement.
