Hello all,

I am working on the mog I picked up last week, fabbing up a new accelerator pedal linkage shaft, and noticed a small amount of anti-freeze on the drivers floor. It trickled down from the heater. Two days before I was messing with the black knob in the photo, unscrewed it, pulled on it, pushed on it, could not figure out what it did. After taking off the cover tonight I see that the leak is coming from where this black knob threads in to the heater core. Obviously I caused the leak when I fail to tighten it down all the way when I was messing with it.

Question is...what the heck is it..just a way to hold the heater core in place and drain it if need be?

chris

the seal is just a spiral of leather or such, tightening the nut into the heater core might reduce the seepage
