Has anyone successfully used a heat gun to take dents out of the front bumper cover? If so what advice and/or tips and/or cautions can you offer?

I bumped into the back of a pickup and its trailer hitch made a nice dent in my bumper. I was able to make it respectable looking by applying some heat and pressing with a block of wood. That worked surprisingly well. So now I'm thinking of removing the bumper so I can get at it from behind and doing a more complete job of it.

Any help will be appreciated.

So is it front bumper damage, or rear? Not that it matters I suppose.

I HATE folks who mount tow hitches when they are not towing. They should all be fined.

Bill,

I could be wrong but I believe that like metal, plastic can have a little memory for a short time. It's best to try to take care of it ASAP.

Just my $0.02. Good luck with your project.
