Hello All:

I was quoted by some company $150 to rebuild the odometer of my 300D which had stopped working about 3 weeks ago. The plastic worm gear has lost teeth near where it connects to with the brass gearon the odo shaft. The shaft as well has gone smooth.

Is $150 too high? Can you recommend alternatives or other shops who repair these items? I need the odo to estimate diesel consumption as well as time service schedules (oil change, etc). Thanks in advance. BTW, I have done over 1000 miles so far on B20 diesel w/o problems ($2.20-2.30 per gallon).
