Can anybody help me , i have seen a few ML drivers where there door mirrors fold when they get out of the car.
does anybody know how this is done, is it a programme that is done by the dealer or is it a retro-fit to be done seperate.
I would love to know because mine is in the dealer and if it can be done i can get them to do it.

As far as I know it is an option that you can only order when the car was built, there are two switches by the mirror "joy stick" control the same type as, and in addition to, the switches that make the mirror control left or right mirrors.

If you do not have that option I believe you can just push the mirrors to the folded position by hand and achieve the same results.

Pictures of the above should be in the manual.

You do have to press the button to fold the mirror in. Only the newer E and S-Class with the power folding mirrors have the option to fold in the mirrors upon locking the doors with the remote.

It would certainly be a nice option to have on the ML though! As is, I fold it in manually almost every time that I park!

I have folding mirrors in my 2001 ML430. It is OEM. The button/ swith is located on the lower dash panel right to yur steering wheel. I don't use it that often because I simply forget to fold it everytime I park.

The 05ML350SE also came with power folding mirrors standard. I had these on my old 92 S Class sedan and it was useful - that was a huge tank of a car!
