The Japanese car audio manufacturers came up with the FM modulator changer add-on as a way to make big profit from know-nots. The sound is no better that FM radio: no highs, no lows, just midrange. There is only one way to hear the clarity of CD in one's car: Retire the Becker tape radio and replace with any aftermarket CD head unit. There are no German made one sold in the U.S. (unless you find a Becker). A head unit that controls a ten disk changer works well. The stock speakers, if not Bose, should be replaced with aftermarket coaxial speakers that are all 4 ohms. If Bose, replacement triangular-framed drivers are available on line for about $30 each. P.
