G'day, purchased my ML 320 CDI with pro-engineering pack in March 2008. Great car, great ride, very happy, then THE TRANSMISSION happened! Started clunking around 20km/hr and also noticeable around 50-60km/hr. 5 trips to the dealer, software upgrade, new valve body, transmission stripped and rebuilt, many hours of "adaptations" to be told that "it's normal for the car and clunking is due to slack being taken up in transfer case, diffs etc.". My problem is that I think that it is unacceptable to have your head slammed into the headrest when feathering the accelerator in traffic or coming into an intersection. Anyway, have come to the forum to see if any one else has/had the same problem and what was the outcome. Cheers, Andrelle
