...came on whilst doing some heavy in and around town driving. Only noticed it after hitting a fairly jarring pot hole.

I'm thinking it could be from the 91 Supreme gas from Ultramar filled up the day before. :dunno:

It may be time to invest in a code reader. Anything recommended from Canadian Tire and the such? Just need a basic one to at least find it out and clear it.

P0302....something about #2 Cylinder Misfire.

Not since I bought it. I was planning for the 100,000 mark.

Spark plugs should be changed every 90,000-110,000kms OR every 4 years (whichever comes first).

Bad gas causes multiple misfires but you only have a misfire on cyl 2, so the coil is suspect. Swap the coil with another cylinder and see if the misfire moves with it.

UPDATE:

Nothing since going back to Shell 91. Had it "deep" scanned and checked over. No stored codes. All cylinders running equal. Just a blip it seems.

I'm still doing well. 91 Shell helps a lot compared to other 91....even better than 94 Ultra Petro Canada.
