It had to happen on holiday, of course, over 250 Miles from home.

My friend & I were putting some bits in the car, both leaning in from opposite sides when there was an enormous twangy bang. I thought oops thats the rear rack snapped.

Not so lucky it was a front suspension spring that had broken.

Called the Mobilo Life freephone number who arranged for a recovery vehicle & a replacement car for the duration of the repair. I must admit that they have been helpful.

Arrived back home after holiday with difficulty as my wife uses a special disabled seat in the B Class & the wheelchair & walker go on the back rack. So even with the long Volvo V70 Cross Country Estate that they supplied we were all pretty cramped.

Unfortunately the front spring (Shorter sports version) is not a stock item & one is having to be couriered in to Exeter so the car is now 200 miles away from me now I have returned home from holiday.

Still Mobilo Life have promised to have it transported home when it is fixed.

Happy days.

Spring was couriered to dealers yesterday lunchtime & car fixed, cleaned and valeted and delivered the 200 odd miles on low loader & arrived about 6.30 in the evening.

Supplied Volvo hire car collected from me this morning.

Hope the other side does not go now.

Don't know if this service will be available after the 2nd year though.

Apparently so, as mine was an ex-dealers model, so that makes it a second owner vehicle.

You have to keep the servicing up with Mercedes to retain the Mobilo life which I think they claim could go on for 30 years * . However Trout has mentioned 3 years cover which presumably would be for the free repairs under warranty. I have seen a mention in the book of cover up to 4 years for goodwill work, whatever that is. I think all of us should come into that catagory judging by the problems encountered in previous threads.
* I think the cost of 30 years servicing would probably buy a replacement car.
