Dude...that looks AWESOME..... maybe you could enlighten the rest of us as to HOW you did it! Share the knowledge!..... mine needs it badly. thanks!
Before I began to polish I scrubbed the whole thing with soap and water to get any oil or dirt or whatever off it. Then I took a can of Nevr-Dull (probably at any hardware store) Then I took a long time on sections of it. For instance i broke the top part of the air box into 5 sections (the left side, right side, top, and bottom. Then I polished about 1 inch for ~10 seconds (vertically) I did this till I covered the entire section I made up. Then I did the same thing in the section but horizontally. When I was done doing this I wiped off the residue, and then did it all over again. Then I moved on to the next section. If you do that you should have no problem getting it like mine. If you have any other questions just ask lol. I could go into a little more detail I guess. Oh you SHOULD do this in your room hahah. So you can watch TV at the same time.

cool, now you have to put some clear coat on it or you will have to keep polishing it again every few months.

Ok thanks. It sounds like the key is the product, Nevr-Dull, and then of course all the elbow grease.... my garage has a couch and a TV in it...so i am set.

It will be interesting to see how long the shine lasts..... report back to us in a few months if you don't mind....

and yes... if you left any details out, they would be much appreciated.

thanks again!

Okay here's some steps.
STEP 1: Scrub the whole thing with soap and water untill the only thing on it is the metal no grime. Then wipe it dry,

STEP 2: If the sticker was like mine and all that's left is the sticker resedue use fignernail polish removal if your mom/sister has any. Then just scrub the hell out of it with a rag. To make it faster use something plastic to scrape off more sticker. This will still take ALONG time to take it off.

STEP 3: Then get your Nevr-dull and rip off a piece not even an inch long/wide. and pick a section. As shown below. (Okay well here's the sections I was talking about. The different colors don't mean anything there just there to help show what the sections are. Yes they do overlap.)

STEP 4: Once in the section give a good coat of the nevr-dull oily stuff.

STEP 5: Start at the bottom and move the nevr-dull vertically only in an inch though. Stay in the same inch. I did this for 10 "one-onethousand" seconds.

STEP 6: Once you've done this vertically to the whole section do it horizontally.

STEP 7: Take a rag and wipe off the resedue.

STEP 8: Repeat Steps 4-6 one more time in that section.

STEP 9: Wipe off all the resedue. You'll have to push down hard with the rag. If you see it looking hazy you're not pushing hard enough.

STEP 10: Go to other sections.

STEP 11: Anything not in the sections polish next.
Hope that helps, and sorry it's so long haha.

thanks bud. i will check back to see if you added clear coat...and how long the shine lasts.... i would definitely coat it after all the work you put in.
I don't think I'm going to coat it. My dad said that after a while due to the heat the coat turns yellow. I don't know if that's true but I don't want to risk it. Plus I've used nevr-dull alot in the past after a couple months it starts to get less shiny but if you polish it again it takes barely no time since your just giving it a touch up.

Yea it can turn yellow and also peel if you don't use the right kind. I would get Noxon 7 to keep it polished if you go that route...works great on my polished lips on my wheels.

Alright I'll probably try that out when it starts to get dull again. I'm done with polishing it for now. Tomarrow I'm going to jack up the back end and remove the gas tank, fuel filter, and fuel pump to fix the fuel delivery problem.
